Spanish Guitar Chicago

While being raised here in Chicago, David’s origins come from Ecuador.  David has been playing the guitar since his early teenage years.  While playing different styles early on, it wasn’t until he found flamenco that he really found his passion for the guitar.  David has gone on various trips to Spain for extended study.  He has studied with many master flamenco guitarists in Granada, Madrid and Seville.  He has also been trained in Classical Guitar, majoring in Music Performance at North Eastern University.

Some of the groups David previously took part in were The Guitars of Spain, Mezcal.  He currently plays with Bandoleros, El Payo, and flamenco dance company Ensemble Espanol.  David has played in various parts of the country and performed in many Chicago-land venues.  Some venues include the Hot House, U.S. Cellular Field (home to White Sox baseball), Raw Bar, and Excalibur.  He has also appeared on many major network television and radio programs on stations like ABC, FOX, and WGN with current and prior bands which he has worked with. David also teaches guitar for private studies.  Previously he was part of the staff at the Old Town School of Folk Music, both teaching and playing for flamenco dance classes.
